Tokyo has no single centre. It is a large city to sleep in and the choice of room types is unusually wide — business hotels with small efficient rooms, capsule hotels, ryokan with tatami floors, and international chains at the top end. Shinjuku for a first visit — it is the most connected point in the city, so everywhere else is a short train ride, and it has the widest range of rooms.
